On Thursday, February 17th, the Q&A Foundation welcomed everyone to BUZZ Social Bowling Alley to celebrate their one year anniversary! It was an evening full of bowling, pizza, and laughter. The Q&A Foundation would like to thank everyone that has contributed and supported this nonprofit this past year! It was an exciting journey that wouldn't be possible without our donors, supporters, volunteers, and families that join us every event! We look forward to another wonderful year of Joy, Confidence & Inclusion!
On Sunday, March 27th, families that have children with disabilities were welcomed to the De Pere Cinema to watch a private viewing of Sing 2! Everyone got settled in with popcorn, candy & drinks and sang along to the musical movie. It was a very laid back experience with children learning how to sit through a movie theatre experience, while also having the option to talk and run around without others minding. It was such a fun evening! Thank you De Pere Cinema for making it such a wonderful experience for all who attended!
For the month of May, the Dough Shoppe in Green Bay selected the Q&A Foundation as the recipient for their tip jar proceeds! As a way to celebrate this exciting news, we held a social gathering at the Dough Shoppe on Tuesday, May 24th! All community members were welcome to come and purchase some cookie dough and support the local business and thank them for their upcoming donation! The weather was sunny and warm and everyone enjoyed socializing outside while enjoying some delicious dough.
On May 21st, 2021, the Q&A Foundation hosted its first event, "Kids Night Out!" The event hosted over 70 children at Westwood Elementary School in De Pere. Children of all abilities spent the evening free of their parents and got to enjoy a DJ, a bouncy house, sports activities, face painting, pizza from Little Caesars, a magician performance and free play time with their peers! The Q&A Foundation also put on a silent auction thanks to many donors throughout the Green Bay, WI area. Over $6,500 was raised (our goal) to help fund future events and community experiences to benefit children with disabilities! We look forward to hosting another Kids Night Out, soon!
On July 13th, 2021, the Q&A Foundation hosted "Mini Golf & Music" at Duck Creek Mini Golf in Howard. The event welcomed children with disabilities and their families to attend. 20 families registered and attended the event! Families were able to attend at no charge to play a round of mini golf together, enjoy live music from Brian James, play bean bag toss, bounce in the tigger bounce house, go on a scavenger hunt, and get their faces painted! We were proud to have a concession stand available, sponsored by Jandt Farms, LLC. Families were able to chat with one another and enjoy an ice cream treat before heading home, tired from the warm evening of FUN!
Our first annual golf outing was a beautiful success! The event was held on September 11th, 2021 at Ledgeview golf course in De Pere. We welcomed 120 golfers and over 15 volunteers to the golf course to raise awareness of what our foundation is doing, have fun together, and raise money to support future Q&A events! The weather was gorgeous and all participants had fun with the various hole games - longest marshmallow drive, dice game, bean bag toss & more! A highlight of the event was having Holland with us to help run the rubber duck game and announce all the raffle basket winners after the outing! Holland is 15 years old and has Down syndrome. Her and her mother were very excited to greet all the golfers and share how they've been involved with our foundation since joining! The golf outing raised over $10,000, a goal we were thrilled to meet! This money will be used over the course of the next year to provide our three community programs at no cost to the children we serve - The Joy, Confidence & Inclusion programs. We can't wait until next year! Save the date for September 10th, 2022!
Fall Fest was held on Wednesday, October 13th and Sunday, October 24th at Berryland - Pumpkins in Abrams! Children were welcomed with a treat bag and given the opportunity to play all the games that Berryland had to offer around their grounds. Families were then welcomed onto the hayride and transformed into "pumpkin hunters." In order to get to the pumpkin patch, everyone had to ride through a mildly "spooky trail" full of fun halloween themed decorations. Each family was able to have a family photo taken by MLO Custom Photography as well. We were so excited to have sunny days on BOTH of the dates! We look forward to many more fall festivals in the years to come!
Our first yoga class was held in November of 2021 at Lifestyle Power Yoga in Green Bay! Our group of girls and women had so much fun learning about poses, our bodies, and building our strength and confidence. It was definitely a great confidence event and we look forward to hosting more yoga classes in 2022!
On Thursday, December 16th, the Q&A Foundation held it's first holiday party at Green Bay Botanical Garden from 4-7 pm! Families were invited to get a photo with Santa, decorate ornaments together, enjoy hot chocolate and snacks while mingling with one another, and visit the garden of lights outdoors! Holiday music played and children were playing, laughing and running around with joy. It was a magical evening full of memories made by all! The Q&A Foundation would like to thank all who attended and helped make 2021 such a wonderful year together!
